Orangemedhas - How it all began?

Sometime in the beginning of the 5th semester at IIIT, a couple of us met in Sitha’s room (#152, OBH, IIIT Hyderabad) and were casually discussing about our just finished summer internships. All of us had one common opinion - the companies have a very poor way of managing people and ensuring the processes. The people were not motivated, they rarely worked to realize their full potential - partly because people rarely work on something they like.

The outcome of this discussion was that the companies could be much more efficient. Umm… this could be too big a thought for the 3rd year under-grad students but we thought that we could start a company that will function better - better quality, better use of people and the most important thing, let the people work on what they like!

We immediately knew who would be part of this new venture… Babu, Hari, Kalyan and Sitha. There were a few others who could be part of this, but unsure of the plans that they had for their future we wanted to talk to them first - among them were Ashok and a few others. After the first few discussions we had about 8 people - unsure if number would be sufficient, we went through a list of all our classmates to see if we could ask some more… slowly the number became 12 over a couple of months.

Ignorant of all the complications involved, not knowing the reasons why the companies were inefficient and forgetting the fact that every company wants to be efficient, but there are many factors that stop them from being efficient, a new thought was born - a thought that would in future be Orangemedhas!
