The next release has been round the corner for quite a while, here is the current status
- 7 bugs blocking the release (code)
- 5 of the 7 bugs already have patches up for review
- The other two being a build bug and another in calendar that we are struggling to reproduce!
So what’s left before the release?
- Setting up the addons repository (it’s already up there, but needs some testing and a good theme before the formal announcement)
- Making sure spicebird.com works fine in IE6 (It is an embarrassing and silly bug that was always there - we only use the standards compliant Firefox here)
- Some last-minute style improvements to Spicebird
- Finally, decide on a release date!

when is the next release actually going to get to the street ? Will your linux version be test for the Xandros running Eee Pc’s out their (there’s a lot of us).
So, who is earlier, Thunderbird 3beta1 or Spicebird 0.7 ?
I have been following the development of Spicebird for some time now…
‘…around the corner…’ is very vague…
In general rather give a more reliable time line then puting off people by promising the impossible!
If it takes time, then it just does!
If it will be 2009, then it will be 2009!
Of course I am not aware of any business constraints etc. !

I agree that “around the corner” is a very vague statement, but the status is that at the time of post there were 7 bugs remaining.
We only have one code related bug remaining. We are currently working on the website and the addons site. I will post the date of release in a day!
Thanks for your interest in Spicebird.
I’ve installed the 0.4 version yesterday and I have to say that I have experienced one problem impoting the emails from Outlook 2007.
It imported the complete tree of the local folders and sub-folbers but no one message.
Is it a bug or I made a mistake, somehow?
Anyway, compliments for this nice, useful and powerful software application.
Elio.
@Elio
It’s a known bug in Spicebird and is fixed for the 0.7 release that is due on 20th November.
