    Hie

I gave spicebird till today and finally moved back to thunderbird due to the issues I am facing.

Biggest issue is it becomes unresponsive after a while and i have to end now and restart it. This is pretty annoying. To clear i am using xp with 2.4 ghz and 2gm ram. So config is good …

I can see it eating memory in the task manager continuously… Since it is a great product so i will be happy to help u guys if u need some help in analyzing the issue on machine…

Installed SB 0.7 on HP Laptop running Windows Vista but can not get SB 0.7 to “Open/Run”. Tried to re-install but can not do that either. Tried to “Remove” program (SB 0.7) and can not do that (remove application) either. So seem to be “stuck” with program that will not run and is taking up a “large amount” of MB’s on my PC.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Have used earlier version of SB and liked it very much but am rather disappointed with this latest release’s performance or non-performance.

It doesn’t work. Splashscreen just pops up, then it crashes.

I’ve even deleted the .spicebird folder. When I run spicebird in the terminal, I get this:

    Code: Select all
    1nszdfts.default - default
    1nszdfts.default - default
    1nszdfts.default - default
    1nszdfts.default - default
    Warning: Warning: Using guessed timezone
    Europe/Berlin (UTC+0100/+0200).
This ZoneInfo timezone seems to match the operating system timezone this year.
This ZoneInfo timezone was chosen based on the operating system timezone
    identifier “/etc/timezone: Europe/Berlin”.

(spicebird-bin:19573): tp-glib-WARNING **: Failed to connect to starter bus: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-2AUceppF2J: Connection refused

The splash screen pops up and dissapears immediately.

It seems to be a problem with the telepathy/empathy framework, but I cannot figure it out.

Started using version 0.7 (2008112108) on a fast Vista machine and I am very impressed. Some import functions don’t seem to work, or work consistently or properly (for example I can import a .csv calendar file while Spicebird is open on the Task tab, but not while open on the Calendar Tab; but I do really like the ability to merge Calendars. Mail service is good, though I would like to be able to import folder data from Yahoo Mail (I did get the calendar file from there - Yahoo Calendar can background sync with Outlook thus syncing my work and personal calendar information in Spicebird). I haven’t been able to import Tasks or, yet, to get mail out of the Yahoo mail folders, but I’m looking for solutions to that. Also, while I received an update notification, the link wouldn’t open the website - Google said that the server could not be found.

Overall I am very impressed and intend to stick with this program. I would like to see, sometime, some PDA support and a few still inoperative features cleand up but, on the whole, its a good orogram with good features.

If I can help by noting things I find are not working as I think they should, please let me know.

    Meanwhile, thanks for this.

I’m really impressed. I’m using Spicebird 0.7 on top of Fedora 10 64-bits and I’m not experiencing any sort of problems.

The only issues I have are:
    - regarding the Outlook import function. I have many Outlook .dat files. So, I need the import function to ask the .dat file location.
    - I want my e-mail replies to be on the begning of the e-mail, and not at the end.

I’m impressed. Unlike Evolution, it worked right from the moment I installed it, and the printing feature works as well; unlike Chandler, the calendar invite was readable in OE6.

Certainly a lot of thought went into this thank you Prasad

Spicebird is really good, but i switched back to thunderbird, because of lightning problem. i can’t import task and calendar information. And GUI is a bit strange. It’s not done yet, but really good way, really good idea!!!
